Cortex-Med is a structured scientific memory that is already operational, queried directly by the AI assistant through a connector. Today it holds over 78,000 statements extracted from more than 15,000 scientific publications, each linked to the sources that support it and to the original publication. The project aims to extend the corpus progressively until it covers the entire literature indexed in PubMed.
Cortex-Med nasce per mettere in relazione evidenze provenienti da farmacologia, clinica e genomica, permettendo all'AI di attraversare discipline che normalmente vengono analizzate separatamente. Non si limita quindi a recuperare informazioni: confronta risultati, misura la corroborazione tra fonti, evidenzia studi in conflitto e ricerca correlazioni tra farmaci, geni, fenotipi, processi biologici e condizioni cliniche.
Cortex-Med was built to relate evidence from pharmacology, clinical medicine and genomics, letting the AI cross disciplines that are usually analysed separately. It therefore does more than retrieve information: it compares results, measures corroboration across sources, highlights conflicting studies and searches for correlations between drugs, genes, phenotypes, biological processes and clinical conditions.

The corpus currently covers three initial areas: chronic inflammation, insulin resistance and neurodegeneration; chromosome 14 anomalies; developmental epileptic encephalopathies and genetic epilepsies. The connector is in production and already being tested with early users. Further areas are added one at a time, until the whole literature indexed in PubMed is covered.
